My close friend, Jason, is a bit of a military aircraft buff. He has done extensive research on all types of aircraft used during various American wars. He recently finished putting together an extensive collection of World War II model airplanes. Now he is moving on to Cold War spy planes.
I was browsing through RC jet planes to buy him when I came across an RC U-2 Spyplane. This craft was used by the U.S. in the 1950s to spy on the Soviets. The U.S. used the U-2 Spyplane to figure out the military strength of the Soviet Union. I gave the RC plane to Jason on Christmas and he absolutely loved it!
There are many benefits to growing up in the Pacific Northwest, from the fresh seafood to the pristine landscapes, and of course the exciting outdoor activities. When I was little, I lived right next to Lake Sammamish in Washington and within a few miles of one of the regions best parks: Marymoor. The park offers a plethora of activities, including rock climbing, concerts and a velodrome bike track.
One of my favorite pastimes when I was little was going to the park’s airfield for electric RC airplanes. Every weekend there would be dozens of RC nitro planes in the sky, and you could even see them on the water of Lake Sammamish. On particularly busy days, you could even witness a crash or two
At one time or another we all wanted to know what it felt like to fly a plane or a jet. As we get older the feeling doesn’t go away. I will never be able to fly a real plane because I am scared of heights. Luckily there are different ways to fly a plane or a jet.
RC jets are a great way to get the flying experience. You have total control of the jet. You can maneuver it anyway that you want. It gives the feeling of being a pilot.
Remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks are some of the most popular items of interest for hobbyists and kids alike. Today, RC vehicles are more than just toys. Serious enthusiasts spend a significant amount of money buying and accessorizing. Hobby shops and online retailers are experiencing a tremendous increase in sales as a result of the growing popularity of RC vehicles. If you are planning to enter this fun and exciting form of recreation, you need to learn how to choose the right remote controlled vehicle.
First, you need to know the size or scale of the remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks that you want. Scale actually represents the size or proportion of the RC vehicle in relation to real life boat, airplanes, cars, or trucks. For instance a 1:24 scale model of an RC fighter plane would mean that it is 24 times smaller than the actual plane.. The size or scale of your RC vehicle is important because it can affect fuel consumption or battery life.
You need to determine the type of fuel or power source for your remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks. Many RC vehicles enthusiasts or hobbyists typically go for models that run on rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries. This type of batteries can supply anywhere from 4.8 to 9.6 volts of electrical power. Then, there are RC vehicles that use Nitro or Gas much like their real life counterparts.
Lastly, remote control boats, airplanes, cars and trucks run on different types of engines. There are RC vehicles that are powered by electrical engines, while there are those that use motors that consume Nitro or Gas fuel. Remember it is your choice the remote control models that are powered by nitro, gas or electric engines. Your choice of engine that your RC model uses can directly affect its speed and overall power.
There are many types of radio-controlled aircrafts. It really depends on what type of experience you have as well as what you want to do. Some are more complicated then others. You just need to know your skill level.
Some different types of rc planes are jets. Jets tend to be very expensive and commonly use a micro turbine or ducted fan. There are gliders as well. Glider planes do not typically have any type of propulsion, as a general rule. Another is called a pylon racer. These types are smaller and propeller driven. The kits are fairly inexpensive. Those are just a few to choose from.

Have you ever stare up in the sky and wonder how much fun it would be to Fly a Plane? If the answer was YES did. Well you can have fun flying a remote control airplane. At first, It will be a challenge to learn how to fly one, but with patience and practice; you can learn how to effectively control a remote control airplane. There are many types of remote control airplanes to choose from. As a Beginner, buy a cheaper airplane since, you will crash a few times as you learn how.
Books, DVDs and software on the Internet that will help you learn. They will tell you what to expect when you fly for the first time. But hands-on is the best experience. If the remote control airplane is facing directly at you, pushing left on the control stick will move the airplane to your right. Confusing? Yes at first it will be, but always be aware of which way your airplane is flying. If you lose sight of it and cannot determine which way it is facing, it might be too late. This means settings the trim control on the airplane so that whenever you are not touching the controls, the airplane is flying straight and level. If you do not perform trimming flight tests, then your remote control airplane flying will be erratic, frustrating and difficult to control.
Just remember, the most important part is to have fun while remote control airplane flying. Be patient and do not get frustrated at failing. Practice with the training software available out there. Remember to buy a cheap airplane for your first remote control airplane!

9 Eagles Sky Eagle EP Park Flyer RTF 2.4Ghz

You have to learn to walk before you can run. The same concept applies to electric RC airplanes. Before you can learn how to do fancy tricks, you need to learn the basics. Making smooth turns is an important skill to master.
The first turn you make with one of your electric RC airplanes must come after the vehicle has climbed to a workable altitude. You need to reach at least tree-top height and then level out. Next, use your controllers to move the rudder. Remember to ease the plane around curves; don’t force the move. Once you’ve gotten comfortable with basic turns try taking your RC airplane out on a breezy day and learn to turn into and out of the airflow.
