Laying Out an RC Rock Crawler Course
With a bit of work and some ingenuity, you can create your own RC rock crawler track in your own backyard. Start by drawing out a course plan on a piece of paper. Clearly identify the obstacles you want in your course, such as mud pits, cliffs, and rocky terrain.
Clear the designated area of your backyard, then, start building up piles of dirt for the elevated sections of your course, and digging holes for the pits. Using dirt as the base will save you money on the amount of rocks you’ll need to purchase to fill in the course. Bricks, logs, and smaller boulders can be added to create a more challenging course. Finally, fill the water features and mud pits with water. Round up your friends, break out your RC crawlers, and have a blast racing over your custom course.
